Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania was established in 1952. It is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth – the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and birds is also impressive. There’s a wide variety of accommodation available, from luxury lodges to mobile camps.
Ngorongoro Crater
Definitely one of Tanzania’s must-see places – the landscape of this 829,200-hectare UNESCO World
Heritage Site ranges from short-grass plains, grazed by dazzles of zebra and large herds of
wildebeest, to placid crater lakes and volcanic peaks, wreathed in cloud.
The famous Ngorongoro Crater is one of the new Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and the feature from
which the Ngorongoro Conservation Area takes its name, The world’s largest inactive and empty volcanic
caldera, formed 2 to 3 million years ago. Around 25,000 large animals live in the 30,000-hectare crater,
including lions, black rhinos, and elephants.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Serengeti National Park
Depart with a flight from Zanzibar to the Serengeti National Park.
Upon arrival, you will be met by your Camp guide, adventure already awaits as the transfer back to the
lodge is a game drive. Lunch & Dinner will be served and you will overnight at your camp or lodge.
The Serengeti National Park is the world’s last great wildlife refuge as it contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature’s wonders. The area covers 14,763 sq kms and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai ‘Siringet’, meaning endless plains.
Day 2 : Serengeti-Ngorongoro Crater
Have the morning Serengeti and then after lunch drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater to overnight at
Ngorongoro, Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided Drinking water will be provided every day per person. There are several documented resident lion prides just within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident pride begins to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park.
The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the Central Serengeti The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater -Arusha
After breakfast, descend into the crater for a crater game tour.
Later on, you will drive to Arusha and proceed to Kilimanjaro international airport for your flight back to
Zanzibar, Breakfast, and lunch are provided. Drinking water will be provided every day per person.
Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world.
About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometers wide,
Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands.
These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes,
magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen
grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.
The Northern circuit is complete when features; Manyara – home to tree climbing lions, the Ngorongoro – cradle for Human kind and the never-ending plains of Serengeti National Park.
The Selous Game Reserve in Southern Tanzania is a true African Eden of prolific wildlife and vast wilderness, and is a name that is becoming legendary in African Safari travel circles.
The Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area Safari is widely considered one of the most underrated safari on the continent where you will see Big 5 animals.
